Okay, I know it has been a while.  My friend keeps pestering me.  I apologize.  No excuses except for writer's block!

I have been a busy girl since my last post.  I went to Vegas, New Jersey (twice) and have seen the end of summer bring the best fashions to life!

Before we end summer, let me post a perfect outfit to close out the season.  White jeans are always a staple, from housewives to interns, but adding some flair keeps them current.  A little tear with an awesome, flowy top and some Toms makes this a perfect penultimate summer outfit.  Stick a sweater on top when it gets chilly!

Ok, well on to Vegas.  While there I saw many outfits that weren't fit for this blog, let alone public.  Let's keep lingerie in the bedroom girls!  Although, even in Vegas the asian girls were able to represent and show the others what we should be wearing.  Vegas style is Soho style with a little extra sparkle.  Literally!

A little sparkle helps to compete with the waterway of the Venetian!

Add a little extra skin (not too much) and hike up the hem lines while walking through the Bellagio!

And when going to the pool, a hat and a flamingo at Mandalay will conquer the lazy river.

Check in with style, a black dress always wins in Vegas!

Don't worry, I didn't spend my whole trip taking photos for the blog.  I went bike riding in Red Rock Canyon, did the zipline over Fremont Street, found the most awesome sushi place in Lake Mead, and did a little shopping.

Maybe biking at noon in the desert wasn't a great idea!  104 is a little hot!
So much fun, just wish it went a little faster...

asian persuasion

Has anybody noticed how every ad campaign seems to feature an asian girl?  That didn't happen 10 years ago...maybe because the world has realized that Asian Girls Wear it Better?!?

With the US Open in town I am reminded of tennis whites.  There is a way to make the look modern. Put a cool pair of loafers and some texture and you have an enviable outfit.
A perfect pairing on a hot day

And once again, there is nothing better than a white blouse...not to underestimate a simple black dress.  With good hair and a smile, this is always a go to outfit, only an asian girl can pull it off!!!!

Bookends of perfection

Cycling

Hey there,

I know I haven't posted in a week.  I have been busy riding my new bike and spending time at the beach.

The bike riding has been fun.  It is hard work but rewarding.  Feeling the wind in my face gives me a sense of freedom.  And as my mind drifts while I am pedaling I think of all the cute cycling kits (outfits) I should invest in!

Did anybody notice my awesome shoes?!?

As far as the beach was concerned, I spent a few days on Fire Island.  I grew up spending my summers over there so it feels like childhood to me.  We rented a house in Ocean Beach and had days of sun, evenings of super moons and yummy food.

One of the days, while taking a walk we noticed two asian girls.  Actually everybody noticed them because on of them was wearing a thong.  Just dental floss in a T shape on her behind.  She pranced up the beach to the water's edge and splashed herself with the ocean water.  She didn't go in and barely got wet, but acted out an opening porn scene splashing the water on herself, bending over and gaining the attention of every single guy on the beach (and most of the women too!)  I guess you can say that Asian Women even wear bating suits better!!!

I promise to post more this week.  Please don't forget to email us your info.  I would love to get an apple picking trip together for the fall.

Soho Saturday...with some Ktown sprinkled in

Well I woke up a little slow this morning.  Maybe because last night I didn't go to bed until almost 4am.  My friend likened my brain to a metronome on the slowest setting with the weight all the way at the top.  Tick.........tick.........tick........tick.  He, on the other hand, was definitely set at allegretto, tick.tick.tick.

Today seemed like a Soho day.  Got off the 6 and immediately saw two girls that looked great.  The chambray dress, the oversized bag and the simplicity and casualness of their outfits was spot on. To top it off, both of them had great smiles!  Soon after, we saw another couple of friends who were out having a great day wearing simple outfits in great colors topped off by smiles.  Denim shorts and a pretty shirt are all you need to have a great day!  Add a gold necklace if you want a little flair.

No matter what you wear, a smile pulls it together!

That blue is a great color on almost anybody, and the cinched waist shows off a petite figure well.

One of the trends of the day was oversized jackets.  I don't own one yet, but I think I will make it a staple in my fall wardrobe.  It gives denim and a t-shirt a modern twist.  The layering effect always makes an outfit more interesting.  Just make sure that you don't get something that is oversized but drowns your body.

Love those white shoes, they complete the look!

Her tank and jeans balance the sleeveless trench.  And if you have abs like that, why not show them off!

While is Soho, I noticed girls walking around with ice cream that I had while in Korea.  It is a J shaped tubular cone that is filled with soft serve.  You can get chocolate, vanilla or half and half (my fave).  Look for the truck, Play J'scream.  You can follow them on Facebook to see where they are located.

The best thing on a hot day!

The other trend that was out strong today was cool leather thongs.    Paired with a solid colored dress, the complete an outfit without looking like you tried too hard.  Comfortable for daytime walking and brunching, they should be in every girl's wardrobe!

Thongs with a bow!   I would totally wear these. Pairs nicely with the oversized Celine bag.

Great white dress, looks innocent with the nude thongs!

Love this blue, and the white and tan thongs say casual and classy at the same time!

TGIF

Finally Friday!  That is what I said to myself when I woke up yesterday.  My new bicycle needed the pedals put on and the back wheel trued.  Besides that, a bike ride and an evening of fun was all I had on tap...but then the emails started.  Sometimes business gets in the way of pleasure.  Finally around noon, we were able to take my new bike to the shop.  We went to Robert's on Francis Lewis Blvd in Flushing.  They were awesome, two other shops had said I would need to leave my bike overnight, but Robert's promised it would be finished in an hour.  While we waited we went to Utopia Bagels, they definitely make good sandwiches.  Then back to pick up my new baby!  On the way out Jimmy met some new friends.  Didn't get a photo of them, but here is Jimmy.  (They suggested I include her on the blog)

Jimmy - aka "Butterball"

With my new bicycle, I had to learn how to use clipless pedals.  Harder than it looks!  Took one turn around the block practicing clipping in, braking and clipping out.  On the second time around somebody should have yelled "Timber" because over I went.  Now I felt like a true cyclist with road rash on my hand, elbow and knee.  I knew I was ready for the big time so we went over to the Cross Island Parkway Trail and rode 13 miles!  Not bad for my first time out and not a single fall!  Don't worry, I will eventually get a photo of the bike (carbon fiber frame) and my cute cycling outfit!

After getting cleaned up we went back to Brooklyn, had a couple of drinks and headed out to Ktown. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere jovial.  Ktown on a weekend evening has some of the best outfits and prettiest girls, and they were out in full force.  It was a great opportunity for the blog!

Look at these girls, all smiles!  Gorgeous!

Awesome leather skirt, pairs great with a Chanel bag!

After some drinks and snapping some photos, we decided to go back to Brooklyn.  While waiting for the train we met a violinist waiting for her train.

You may have to practice, practice, practice to get to Carnegie Hall, but she doesn't have to practice to get her outfit on point!

So the heat was heavy and our bodies were tired.  We had walked the streets of Flushing, handed out business cards and met the cutest dog!  First we went to the New World Mall foodcourt.  Have you been there yet?  We went down to grab a soda and to cool down.  But I have to say in the back corner is a dumpling place that is amazing.  Near there is a place for a spicy noodle soup that is super yummy as well.  We tried the pork sandwich at Handmade Noodles and it fell flat, as well as the street noodles from the place that has the aforementioned amazing soup.  But this is a great place to go to people watch, grab an inexpensive bite and try new foods!

Great Dress - love the tassels and lace!

Food Court Views

Walking through Flushing there are plenty of little shops with trendy, inexpensive clothing imported from Asia.  In one of the shops there was a girl in the cutest outfit.  A great top that was very flattering and a pair of floral shorts that fit well and looked classy.  She topped it off with a great attitude and smile.

Oh and here is the dog that I met in Flushing.  She is and Afghan.  I think she would make a great accessory for anyone!

Flushing Girls...

So last night was a rough one for my friend.  Therefore this morning was a slow start.  Although I have to say I made an awesome breakfast of fried eggs and left over garlic bread tuna and tomato salad.

We had to go out to Staples for some actual work necessities and the one on Northern Blvd is right across the street from a shop that I had been in once.  The dresses in the window are always cute.  Judy and Jay.  It is a korean shop with curated selection of clothing and makeup.  The two women in the shop were Judy and Jay.  They were a bit shy about having their photo taken.  The dress I tried on was cute, but a smidge too big for me.  If you are in the area, eating at Yedon for katsu or Noodle House, stop in and try something on!

The Dress I tried on...what do you guys think?

After a little retail therapy we went down to Flushing for something to nibble on.  After last week's trip to Soho with nary a girl to photograph, despite the heat today there were plenty of pretty girls in awesome outfits!

I always notice that when there is a group of girls walking around in fashionable clothing, it packs a punch and always draws attention.  That is exactly what this group did!

Sometimes it is a great bag finishes an outfit.  This is a great detail no matter what your age!

It was a good day in Flushing!!

Hot and Humid and still looking great!

What do asian girls like better than clothes?  Food!  That's right folks, take a look at Yelp! and all you will find are asian girls who are ranked elite with their two cents on where to eat.  I spent this weekend in Queens, which means I was privy to some of the best Korean food you could find.

Yesterday we want to a sandwich place called Omani.  OMG!  It was so good.  I can't wait to go back for the bulgogi sandwich.  Sitting next to another table with a college aged korean girl, I was thinking I would ask for her photo for the blog.  She had cute day glow denim shorts and a fun tank top paired with scrappy sandals and an LV bag.  You won't see her photo up here.  The moment she started eating I was repulsed.  She chewed with her mouth open making smacking sounds.  She also would put too big of a bite into her mouth and talk with her mouth full.  It was awful and funny at the same time.

Last night was a soju fueled evening at Sik Gaek Chun Ha.  As BBQ seafood and butter roasted squid filled our bellies we saw quite a few girls dressed to impress.  Unfortunately we were without cameras (or phones) and not really seeing straight!  I did managed to drop some cards off at a table with three girls who were dressed like they were coming back from dates. (Dates that couldn't have ended too well since with was 1am and they were single.

Today, after a slow lazy morning and a rain storm we could decide where to eat.  After driving around for about an hour we headed to Five Guys.  This is an old favorite of mine.  I used to have an addiction to it which a whole other embarrassing story!  Sitting and waiting for our burgers, two girls walked in.  They were pretty and sweet.  And I always love the fact that these skinny girls can eat burgers and fries without the consequence of body fat.  (Give them all 10-20 years!)  On my way out I asked to take a photo and gave them some business cards.

So even at a Five Guys on a hot, humid day after a rainstorm, Asian Girls Wear it Better!

Saturday, August 15, 2015

Well, Friday was a beautiful day and we were a bit hungover.  We grabbed the camera and the new business cards and headed to Soho, certain that we would find some Asian Girls wearing it better!  I have to say that there weren't as many girls out shopping, and we were very hungry.  But before grabbing some sandwiches (which weren't as good as we had hoped they would be) we found our first star.  She was wearing a very simple outfit.  The kind that everybody has in their closet.  Jean shorts and a t-shirt.  For some reason, whether it was her confidence or plain natural beauty, she rocked the outfit proving that simplicity is sometimes best!  And even cutoffs and a T look less than pedestrian on a beautiful asian girl.

Oh, and for all of you wondering what the night before looked like...

I was a mess!!!!

Business cards!!!

So, I got the new business cards today for my blog and the weather is perfect.  My plan is to go out tonight and get photos of asian girls wearing it better!  It is interesting to watch these girls walk around.  From the girls in Flushing with their random outfits and outdated styles to the girls in Soho with fashion "on point", I know that I can find an array of style to suit any taste!

My plan is to hit the streets with a camera and get photos of the ladies who represent this whole idea of Asian Girls Wear It Better.  I love looking at real photos of people in interesting clothing.  I find that it gives me more inspiration than the pictures in a magazine; it is more accessible.  I see pairings of things that I wouldn't have put together and when it looks good, I want to go home and try it with the pieces I have.

I hope this is a success and gets a lot of followers.  So girls, put on something cool and hit the streets!  Give me something for my blog.  :)

Welcome to Asian Girls Wear It Better

Welcome to our new blog.  Years of walking through NYC; the streets of SoHo, Chelsea, Ktown, East Village and Brooklyn, the consensus is that asian girls wear it better!  Whether we are talking the latest trends or the classic styles; when an asian girl dons the garb, she does so with the confidence and poise as if she walked out of a fashion magazine.

It has been noticed through the years that asian girls could wear the same outfit as their western counterparts and it will look completely different.  It looks more polished, sophisticated, and complete on a girl from Korea or Japan.  We have decided to start a blog that highlights the styles we see on the streets of NYC; real girls, their own wardrobes, just wearing it better.

Enjoy!
